Well, it's somewhat official; we are welcoming a new puppy into our home. We have been discussing this for some time because Jasper just L-O-V-E-S playing, particularly with other dogs the same size as he is. While we thought adopting a dog would be the best option, we soon discovered that the people in charge of choosing homes for these animals are like adoption Nazis. Even though we have a healthy, happy, loving, well-behaved (relatively!) dog our application was rejected immediately because of our yard situation. They even implied that we don't comprehend how demanding it is to take care of a dog such as the one we tried to adopt. After that situation we had a very bad impression of adopting and expanded our search. We found a sweet little darling girl dog from a breeder that we put a deposit on and will take home sometime within the next week. We pray she is as healthy as she looks and will of course have her thoroughly checked out by a vet, but we are already vigorously preparing for the new arrival. We plan to visit her throughout the week to get her acquainted with us so she will hopefully not be traumatized when we eventually do take her home. Of course, I couldn't be more excited, and I'm so eager to bring her home and start taking care of her until she gets big enough to rough around with Jasper! Here's a picture of our new little furball, Lola:
Here's hoping Jasper won't teach her all of his naughty tricks!
